Album Description

This CD album can best be described as love songs. Although the sentiments in them range from hopeful to hopelessly blue, “love” is as apt a genre as can be found. That goes for the singer too. Love song singer.

Fred Knipe in his long career has been an exclusive writer for Nashville publishing companies and has written indelible songs for legendary country artists. For this album he has gathered the best of those and added a few of his own favorites.

Maybe the word for this collection is "suburban". That is, not all the way country. While the arrangements are all characterized by acoustic guitar, their familiar shimmer is spun together with citified instruments. Where mainstream country is often more homespun or gritty, these memorable melodies and thoughtful lyrics unroll gently, eager to make friends.
